Accent bags
Accent accessories in an image help to create sets that are completely different in mood from basic ones or looks that are neutral in character.
If we say that a bag is an accent, this means that it should attract attention. There are several options for what the bag can be in this case.
The simplest thing is to focus on color. It can be a bright color against a neutral background. Or work on the contrast of shades. For example, a white or light bag inscribed with total black. It may not be one color, but a combination of several colors in one bag against the background of plain clothes in calm tones. Denim is also a good base for a color accent in the form of a bag. Or a plain dress.
The second most popular is texture and material. This includes bags made of exotic leather and textured fabric (suede, velvet, plastic). But something else is also true. If, for example, you are wearing a dress made of “rough” fabric (velvet, for example), then a bag made of smooth leather may well be an accent. The main thing is the contrast with the main details of the image.
A less obvious, but working factor is contrasting mood. For example, a strict briefcase for a relaxed look. Or vice versa, a relaxed, shapeless bag to go with a jacket with a clear silhouette. But here you need to try hard so that these things don’t look like they just don’t fit together.
Last on the list, but not least important, is size. A small bag will stand out against the backdrop of loose, oversized items. Or, on the contrary, a very large bag that will attract all eyes. But this is the case when contrast is not necessary. A large bag can look cool with bulky clothes, while a small bag can look cool with skinny jeans.
Often, when a bag is an accent, it combines several of the above qualities. For example, texture and shape. Or size and color. Don't be afraid to experiment. And don’t be afraid to buy bright and unusual bags.
